Andy S. from San Francisco wrote this post on Yelp about his honeymoon: This resort is the most amazing resort I have stayed at on any of the Hawaiian Islands. Immaculately groomed grounds, incredible layout, and a gorgeous ocean front setting. Words just don’t do it justice. This was the final leg of 3 stops on 3 islands for our honeymoon, and it was a perfect grand finale. Of course there is a price to pay for all of this, and it is definitely the most expensive resort I have stayed at as well. But I don’t feel the least bit abused by the price tag for what we received. Every meal was excellent, every drink was tasty, and every service and staff interaction was professional and exceeded all expectations. No matter what your occasion, this location will exceed your expectations and you will never forget the amazing time you spent there.The location is conveniently about 8 miles from the airport, and about 20 minutes from Kailua if you feel like escaping the resort (though there is no real need to do so…). This is on the hotter ‘dry’ side of the Big Island- we didn’t see a drop of rain while we were there. There are at least 3 pools which were warmed to about 80+ degrees or more, and at least one featured a swim-up bar (my favorite!). There is a wave-sheltered ocean swim area which has been interestingly blasted into the lava-rock which rolls into the ocean, and almost looks natural. There are turtles all over the place, some crawl up on the beach as if they are waiting for cocktail service. The restaurants feature dramatic ocean & sunset views.
